Bryan Walters is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and educator based in Brooklyn, NY.

Bryan Walters is a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer whose work spans live performance, electronic music and composition for screen. His solo project, Duplicate, merges his background in trumpet performance and composition with intricate electronic production, transforming brass into ethereal textures and cinematic, emotionally evocative soundscapes that move between dreamy ambient passages, growling basslines, and head-nodding drums. Exploring the duality of existence and the tension between light and darkness, Duplicate creates immersive musical worlds that blur the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic. Walters is set to release his debut album, Hidden Shadow, on November 20, 2026. As Duplicate, he has performed internationally, including at Sanctuary Music Festival in Nicaragua.

Walters has contributed to a range of projects spanning screen composition and commissioned music. His credits include additional music for Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross, as well as contributing to the writing and recording of a WNBA theme commissioned by ESPN as part of a collaborative songwriting team. He also composes and performs music for independent film and television.

He is the founder and bandleader of Extra Syrup Horns, a brass band known for its soulful renditions of ’90s hip-hop and R&B classics. Available for private events and weddings, the group made its Blue Note NYC debut in 2019 and performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s METfest in 2021.

A classically trained trumpet player, Walters studied at Juilliard Pre-College before earning a bachelor’s degree in Orchestral Trumpet Performance from Manhattan School of Music. He previously played trumpet, rapped, and composed with PitchBlak Brass Band, a 10-piece hip-hop brass collective recognized by DownBeat, NPR, and The Source. The group toured nationally and collaborated with Pharoahe Monch at Duke University and Merkin Concert Hall. Walters has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and Burning Man.
